SecureAccess for iPhone/iPod touch

iSnipe is the first and only ballistics calculator for the iPhone and iPod touch. Based on the excellent GNU Exterior Ballistics Library, iSnipe generates accurate 3-DOF solutions to small arms trajectories, including corrections for pitch, yaw and wind conditions.

Simply put, a ballistics computer is a calculator used to predict a bullets path/energy/wind drift/etc… For shooting enthusiasts this means the ability to pre-determine how, where and at what speeds your bullets will fly, before you even open load your gun.

Created with ease of use in mind, iSnipe is the perfect companion for any gun aficionado, competition shooter, or even law-enforcement officer… It’s just that accurate. With all the ingredients you’d expect from a portable, ballistics calculator including the ability to save and load ballistic profiles, automatic save of form values on quit and all the features you’d expect from an integrated iPhone app, there is no better way to get on target, every time. Finally there is a portable, desktop quality application that we can all take along with us with ease.

Check out the iSnipe product page for more info, screenshots and a demo video.

Safari 3.2 declares “No Phish For Me”

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

On Thursday, November 13th, Apple Inc. released Safari v3.2 which now comes complete with a long-awaiting anti-phishing mechanism. Naturally, I was pretty curious to see just how this anti-phishing mechanism actually worked, so I did what any self-respecting journalist would do… I put myself in the line-of-fire and dove head-long into the belly of the best, as they say. Actually, I went ahead and googled up a known, online phishing site and here are my photographic results.

As you can see, the new Safari is pretty blatant about the whole situation… and rightly so. According to Gartner, between May 2004 and May 2005, roughly 1.2 million U.S. computer users suffered Phishing losses valued at $929 million. With current inflation, that’s roughly 4 trillion dollars!! No, just kidding, but it’s a lot and its good to see that Apple is finally doing something about it.

You may download this update using the built-in Software Update in OS X or the Apple Updater on Windows. Alternatively, Safari is a free download from Apple here.

So go ahead and enjoy surfing the web on your Mac again. This new update brings many new improvements, but none more important than the piece of mind they bring.

NOBal Comp for iPhone

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to post a quick status update about the native version of NOBal Comp for iPhone/iTouch, which is currently being called iSnipe. We’ve began the coding phase early last week and expect to have a working beta within a few days… That being said, we’re currently waiting on our contracts to go thru with Apple™ before we can post our app online, but we don’t expect this to take more than a couple of weeks.

We’re getting pretty excited to share our creation with everyone… Version 1 will include everything that you’d expect from a simple ballistics calculator, and we have plans for version 2 and 3 to introduce some pretty compelling features that will help to make iSnipe the very best, portable ballistics app available.

*UPDATE: iSnipe has officially been released… Check out the product page for more info.
